Junior Professor for Media and Cultural Studies at the Institute for Theatre-, Film- and Media Studies at Goethe-University Frankfurt.

I studied philosophy and media studies at Ruhr-University Bochum and Medienkultur at Bauhaus-Universität Weimar.

From 2007 to 2010, I was member of the graduate school
Sinne - Technik - Inszenierung/Vienna, from 2010 to 2012 Junior Fellow at the Internationales Forschungszentrums Kulturwissenschaft, Vienna, at the Graduiertenkolleg Mediale Historiographien/Weimar, Erfurt and Visiting Scholar at Stanford University. Until 2015 I was Postdoc at the Digital Cultures Research Lab at Leuphana University Lueneburg.

Research Interests

History of media and of media theory, environments as technological surroundings, history of the sciences of media, mediality of monologues, architecture and infrastructure, histories of the future, flashlight and photography
